A groundbreaking music video featuring 16-year-old actress and singer Mia Noelle Rodriguez, who has Down syndrome, is making waves with its compelling message about disability inclusion in decision-making processes worldwide.

The video, titled "No Decision Without Us," follows the story of Sophia (portrayed by Rodriguez) who challenges her parents' tendency to make choices for her without consultation. This personal narrative expands into a broader call for change through musical performances by people with various disabilities.

The campaign showcases real-world scenarios where inclusion is lacking. A wheelchair user advocates for involvement in transit planning, while a blind individual highlights accessibility issues with touchscreen information systems at airports. The message resonates clearly - people with disabilities must have input in decisions that affect their lives.

CoorDown, the Coordination of Associations of People with Down Syndrome, launched this initiative to coincide with World Down Syndrome Day on March 21. The timing holds special relevance as disability rights face mounting challenges amid global pushback against diversity and inclusion efforts.

Grey's Anatomy star Caterina Scorsone, who plays Sophia's mother and has a daughter with Down syndrome, emphasized the campaign's urgency. "We are being called to examine who in our global community is invited to participate in decisions that form the very structure of our society," she stated.

CoorDown President Martina Fuga highlighted how people with disabilities encounter exclusion from decision-making in various aspects of life - from personal choices to education, employment, and public spaces. "After years of progress toward a more inclusive world, today we are facing a worrying setback," Fuga noted.

The campaign serves as a powerful reminder that true inclusion requires active participation of people with disabilities in all decisions affecting their lives. Through music and storytelling, "No Decision Without Us" amplifies voices that have long fought for equal representation in society's decision-making processes.
